Conservation and Landscape Ecology

Conservation ecology deals with the preservation and management of biodiversity and natural resources and is emerging rapidly as a result of the accelerating deterioration of natural systems and the worldwide epidemic of species extinctions. Landscape ecology is concerned with the causes and consequences of spatial patterns in nature at multiple spatial scales. Spatial pattern in habitats and resources influences the growth, persistence, and decline of populations.
