Nanoparticles are particles that exist on a nanometre scale. They can possess physical properties such as uniformity, conductance or special optical properties that make them desirable in materials science and biology. Nanoparticles are particles between 1 and 100 nanometres (nm) in size with a surrounding interfacial layer.
