Epidemiology and Prevention of ENT Infections

Inflammatory diseases of the middle ear include a broad range of pathological conditions, including acute otitis media (AOM; suppurative or nonsuppurative), bullous myringitis, granular myringitis, eosinophilic otitis media, and chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM), with or without cholesteatoma. Ear, nose and throat problems can be caused by a number of different factors. The ear, nose and throat are interconnected so the problems in one area can often affect the other.
