Oral cancer

Oral cancer:

Oral cancer, also called mouth cancer, forms in the oral cavity, which includes all parts of your mouth that you can see if you open wide and look in the mirror. Your lips, gums, tongue, cheeks, roof or floor of the mouth. Oral cancer forms when cells on the lips or in the mouth mutate.

The main causes of oral cancer are: Tobacco use (including cigarettes, cigars, pipes and smokeless forms) Alcohol use.

Types of Lip and Oral (Mouth) Cancer

Lymphoma.

Minor salivary gland, including: Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) Mucoepidermoid carcinoma. Polymorphous low grade adenocarcinoma. Carcinoma ex-pleomorphic adenoma.

Mucosal melanoma.

Sarcomas.

Squamous cell carcinoma.
