Polymer Science and Nanotechnology

A nanostructure is defined as any structure with one or more extent, measuring in the nanometer scale range, that is, 10–9 m. Nano structured Materials (NSM) are materials with a microstructure the characteristic length scale of which is on the order of a few (typically 1–10) nanometers. Nano structured materials may be nor far away from thermodynamic equilibrium. NSM synthesized by more complex than a molecule chemistry are examples of NSM in thermodynamic equilibrium.
