Rare Psychiatric Disorders and Mental Health: Rare psychiatric disorders are uncommon mental health conditions or distinctive clinical syndromes that may present with complex symptoms, atypical progression, or specific biological associations. Some rare genetic, metabolic, or neurological diseases can also produce psychiatric or behavioral symptoms that complicate diagnosis. This session examines clinical assessment, neurobiological mechanisms, psychiatric manifestations of rare diseases, multidisciplinary care, treatment challenges, and strategies for supporting patients and their families.
