Materials Physics

Materials Physics: Materials Physics investigates the physical principles that determine the behaviour and properties of solid materials and other condensed matter systems. It examines how atomic arrangements, electronic structures, crystal defects, and interactions influence electrical, optical, magnetic, and thermal responses. This session covers semiconductor physics, solid-state physics, quantum materials, crystallography, superconductivity, magnetic phenomena, thin-film physics, phase transitions, and experimental and computational approaches to understanding material behaviour.
