Gastrointestinal and Urinary Tract Infections

Gastrointestinal Infection is an infection of the bowel is sometimes called a gastrointestinal infection, or gastroenteritis. Salmonella infection is the most common bacterial infection causing gastroenteritis.

Urinary Tract Infection is an infection in any part of the urinary system, the kidneys, bladder or urethra. They usually occur in the bladder or urethra, but more serious infections involve the kidney. They usually are more common in women.

Symptoms include: pelvic pain, increased urge to urinate, pain with urination and blood in the urine. A kidney infection may cause back pain, nausea, vomiting and fever. The infection can be treated by taking Antibiotics.
