Animal science is the study and management of livestock including cattle, horses, beef, sheep and other companion animals. In this field we can learn science, improving and managing livestock and other animals. Two of the mail animal science parts are Ornithology and Equine Science. Ornithology is the study of birds and Equine science is the study of horses.
The perception of animal health covers animal diseases, as well as the relationship between animal welfare, environment protection and food safety. Animal Welfare refers to take care of an animal and how we should do it.
Animal Growth is nothing but the increase in the size of animal in its life time. It is very important in animal life cycle. Most animals pass through 5 development stages in its live time. Most commonly they are
Animal Genetics refers to the scientific study of animal heredity such as increased population, diseases research and conservation.
The process of animal mating with desirable genetics to enhance the traits in future generations is nothing but the animal breeding which is also referred as animal reproduction.
Animal biotechnology is the use of biological methods in the technology of genetic modification of animals to improve their suitability for agricultural, high-yielding, high-efficiency and industrial or pharmaceutical applications.
Dairy Science is a program dealing with dairy animals and their nutrition, growth, reproduction and their dairy products. Livestock production is to maintain the level of efficiency in producing eggs, milk, meat and other goods.
Animal nutrition deals with the nutrient needs of animals. It helps to the animal growth, immunity and strength to reproduction. The essential nutrition’s are as follows
It is the study of animal Characteristics of living according to the environment and qualities useful for survival of animals and their parts. Ethology is the study of animal behaviour. This refers to how they behave in their environment and social interaction. The 4 types of animal behaviour are as follows

Veterinary Medicine focuses on animal care. It is the study of Management, diagnosis and treatment to the diseases and injuries in animals and also deals with breeding, nutrition and research. Veterinary Science focuses on research and development. It is the study of animal health and its growth.
Basic subject of veterinary profession is veterinary anatomy and histology. It is the study of framework of bone and location or placement of various organs in animal body.
Veterinary Anaesthesiology is the study of sedation and anesthetizing animals for pain relief before, during and after the surgeries or other procedures.
The methods of analysing the risk, surveillance and diseases control in animals is known as Veterinary epidemiology. Preventive veterinary medicine prepares the veterinarians to examine the diseases and to control them.
Veterinary Ophthalmology is the study related to the animal eyes. It is the science of diagnosis, treatment conditions and prevention of diseases related to the eyes.
Veterinary Dentistry is the study of dentistry applied to the animal care. It is the science of diagnosis, treatment conditions, and prevention of diseases and disorders of the oral cavity.
Veterinary Microbiology is deals with the viral and bacterial diseases of livestock animals and other companion animals excluding fish.
Veterinary Parasitology is concerned to the parasites of the animals, especially relationships between animal hosts and parasites.
Veterinary Pathology is the study of diagnosis of diseases by the examination of body fluids and animal tissue. It is further divided into anatomical pathology and clinical pathology.
Veterinary Immunology is study of animal immune system from all aspects. It is related to zoology and veterinary science. It includes disorders and malfunctions of the immune system in animals.
Veterinary Biochemistry is the study of chemical reactions to the animal body. It includes the understanding of metabolism, health function and animals diseases.
Veterinary Pharmacology is the study of properties of drugs and all their interactions with animals. Drugs used to cure, treatment and prevention. Veterinary Toxicology is the study of diagnosis and treatment of intoxications in animals.
Veterinary Infectious Diseases are the aspects that affect the health of animals and other companions. Some of the diseases are
Veterinary Surgery & Radiology is compulsory to do research in various aspects of the subjects like general surgery, radiology, anaesthesiology, and orthopaedics. This is responsible for the animal surgical affects.
Even though animals and humans have always lived side by side, research into human-animal interactions is always new. Types of human-animal interactions are as follows
Animal Products provides fiber, complex carbohydrates, antioxidants and certain nutrients that plants don't. And the excess consumption can expose humans to cholesterol, saturated fat, estrogens and lactose. At the same time animal products in-take cause various diseases to the humans.
Although the feed of the animal is costly in the animal production, it is also the most important thing. The growth, health and reproduction of animals depend on the quality of food we feed them. Cattle fodder should be very safe for them. Cattle should not get any diseases from the fodder they consume. If cattle get sick from the forage they eat, those diseases pose a serious risk to cattle and their products to humans.
Although animal dung is useful for humans in the form of manure, animal waste is becoming a problem for the environment. Animal waste does not readily assimilate into the soil. Thus, when it does not decompose properly in the soil, it adds bacteria to the surrounding water. Although animal waste poses little risk to the environment, it can cause significant amounts of water pollution.
