As a member of the Organizing Committee, I take great pride in welcoming all the attendees of the World Congress on Neurology & Dementia on November 20-21, 2019 in Dubai. Neurological disorders impact the life a substantial number of people and their carers and families in the population worldwide with an estimated 46.8 million people worldwide living with dementia in 2015 and this number is believed to have gone up close to 50 million people in 2017. There are over 9.9 million new cases of dementia each year worldwide, implying one new case every 3.2 seconds. There are, however, many people working to fight the disease and to help find a cure. On behalf of the clinical research community, I welcome you to this event and wish you a successful conference.

Neurological disorders are disorders that affect the brain and often can have far reaching effects on not only the patient alone, but also on their loved ones. It can sometimes be called a ‘silent killer’ as symptoms may often be relatively subtle, and little do we realize that it might be a bit too late to tackle these disorders when more severe symptoms start to manifest at a later stage. The World Congress on Neurology & Dementia in 2019 aims to bring awareness and shed light on novel, innovative and practical methods to tackle these debilitating neurological disorders in a prompt and effective manner. More importantly, it aims to bring together academics, industrial players and clinicians to one common ground for scientific discussion about the field of Neuroscience. On behalf of the organizing committee, we warmly welcome everyone to the beautiful city of Dubai, and hope that over the next few days you will be able to experience first-class science and explore the scenic landscape of Dubai ranging from its stunning beaches to its mighty skyscrapers.
